The freight was very good for the two hours I was there but I was also busy moving about to get different shots of the freight coming through the station. You will see in the video the problem I had, and I was was pleased it only happened the once.

All info in the video, I could understand more about the Jobsworth doing what she did if there was a train coming down platform 3, but nothing was due for about eight mins.

Lovely video…proper traction 😎👍🏽 I would have loved to see more class 50’s preserved instead of scrapped. They were fabulous, unique EE machines, even though they were prone to unreliability (They were slightly more reliable after the early 80’s Doncaster refurbs). I wish they had saved more examples like 003 Temeraire, 009 Conqueror, 020 Revenge, 038 Formidable, 043 Eagle, 047 Swiftsure…all great individual machines with their own unique characteristics. I had a swashbuckling thumping ride behind 003 Temeraire in 1986 between New Street & Cardiff on what was then the 1305/1320 Edinburgh/Glasgow to Cardiff - the driver gave it full beans all the way…like a thoroughbred racehorse 😎🇬🇧👍🏽
Yes I agree all you have said about the class 50s, I will never forget the first time I saw one, and it was doing 100mph on the WCML. cheers Mike.
@@antman09ful1 yes of course, they were WCML machines until full electrification in the mid 70’s….I was very young then 😀👍🏽 I remember them fondly in the 1980’s on the Western Region, although prior to May 1984 when one was booked on the 1V92 between New Street and Swansea, they were quite a rare sight in South Wales 👀🏴🙂👍🏽

Ah, Banbury, where I was born! I could hardly recognise Oxford station, though. I used to take the train there from Bicester Town when I started college during my engineering apprenticeship. (All the inter-city trains were pulled by class 47s! (I'm showing my age, now!))
Well for me they were better years to do this hobby, the only better part to these days is the camera quality. Thanks for your comment.
